Aims of the session

  • =Use radio to share audio files from the share fair=
  • To produce a program

Process

1. Agenda for the session

2. Facilitators:

  • Content -
  • Process -

3. Knowledge Sharing technique used (if any):

a) First we had planned to broadcast the fair live from the ILRI campus using some cheaper means like a HORN, or any simple broadcasting equipment, but we were not sure if funding could be there to be able to secure the equipment. b) We would also need to have mp3 recorders and a computer where by we can record and produce mp3 files that can be shared in any required format.(James Ssenabulya)

  • Use some of the skills gained in photofilm training to produce some audio programs (podcasts mostly). To produce some photofilms of the sharefair as well which mostly involve identifying interesting stories, doing audio interviews and taking pictures which are later turned into a photo film. I think it would also be helpful if we have Adobe Audition software on some computers there to help us edit the audio files. A one month trial can be downloaded free fromwww.adobe.com (Paul Karaimu)
  • I will bring some of the materials that we have (Gladson Makowa)
  • What MP3 recorder would you need? Do you know the software ‘cool edit’ which allows to record and save sound in MP3 files? I have it in Addis and can share + great microphone(Geneviève)

ADDITIONAL INPUT FROM SEKIKU JOSESPH

I have sent t list of needed equipment. I will have my laptop. I also have a copy of Adobe Audition 1.5 or 3.0 that we can share. Then I have a small system that I am intending to carry along to Addis. My worry is whether I will be allowed through customs. In the meantime, I have created a n online radio accessible at [http:agfair.youstream.fm/| http:agfair.youstream.fm]. It is has no content at the moment.

We shall have 2 small MP3 recorders available. Let's think of a name for our audio files/program! (Gen)
